Construction – Teknowall
Teknowall: several curtain wall solutions, with one simple and cost-effective system.
By using suitable profiles and accessories supplied by Sapa, the highly versatile and multi-faceted nature of this product allows the manufacture of W50 vertical façades, inclined façades and pyramidal W50p façades with W50sg structural glass. The Teknowall system can be used with Wmp to cover wall façades.
The architecture of Teknowall W50 is characterized by the use of 50mm horizontal and vertical external templates of the same size as the posts and transoms. The templates click onto aluminium clamps fitted with seals of varying thicknesses. The clamps can be screwed onto posts and transoms to secure the glazing, frames and panels. Bars are placed between posts, transoms and clamps, to allow a thermal insulation space of between 6 and 38 mm. The system allows the use of infills (glazing, frames and panels) which may vary from a minimum of 2mm to a maximum of 39mm. Cold or thermally insulated frames with offsetted, hinged or scissor opening can be fitted on this system.
The profiles are extruded products in EN AW 6060 UNI-EN 573-3 primary aluminium forgeable alloy, which is heat-treated in compliance with the UNI EN 755-2 regulations (hardening and tempering with compressed air, followed by accelerated ageing), in order to obtain a T5 physical state.

Teknowall W50n is an addendum to W50 which allows the design of strip façades/fixtures.
Aesthetic continuity and blending between fixed and moving components allow for the architecturally elegant and technically advanced use of strips, with solutions that can range from visible aluminium frames to visible glass with hidden frames. The flexibility in manufacturing both single and multiple-component fixed/moving frames make this product extremely versatile, with different solutions to suit any immediate need and guaranteeing ease of transport and simplicity of assembly.

With Teknowall W50sg, no aluminium is visible externally, only glass. The internal glass is held mechanically in place by the frame’s aluminium profile, while the two panes of glass are reciprocally sealed by using structural silicone. The rabbet formed between panes, both horizontally and vertically, measures 13 mm Fixed and movable infills both use the same perimeter frames onto which glass panes and panels are mounted. A hot vulcanized rubber sealing frame, hooked to posts and transoms, offers both weather-proofing and thermal insulation. Infills are locked onto posts and transoms by matching systems operated by bars which slide on purpose-made rails in the internal frames. The same profiles are used for both fixed and movable frames, with an offsetted or scissor opening.

Teknowall W50p is suitable for use with pyramidal solutions. Special inclined profiles for roof ridges. Preset corner profiles can be clipped onto them following the inclination required. They are suitable for pyramids with a square or octagonal base. The other profiles are identical to those of the basic W50 solution. The special outline of the seals allows for slopes ranging from 0° to 105°. Roof ridge templates can measure 100 or 132 mm, according to the inclination desired: Sapa supplies special accessories for optimal finishing at the top of the pyramid. Thermal insulation is provided by means of the same bars used for the W50 façade. Special thermally insulated profiles allow for the offsetted opening of the skylights.

Teknowall W50mp and Wmp are systems for cladding ventilated façades. These systems provide a metallic understructure and are complete with accessories for bracket connection to the wall and for hooking aluminium or composite panels.
W50mp is characterized by the remarkable strength of its post and transom profiles, which enable the use of a smaller amount of anchoring brackets, even in the case of very large panels.
On the other hand, Wmp is characterized by the lightness of its posts, which makes it ideal for use with smaller panels.

Teknowall W80pu is the solution for the “point-supported suspended” façade. It is characterized by high transparency and wider spaces. A clip-on profile allows the rails to be hidden, within which the glazing support “spider” accessories slide and hook, both inside and outside the post. Stainless steel “ball-and-socket” joints, which have different physical characteristics according to the type of glass and the desired aesthetic effect, fix the glass panes onto the spiders; they are also articulated in such a way as to allow different degrees of inclination for slanted, concave and convex solutions. Weather-proofing in the joints located between the glass panes is guaranteed by the application of UV-resistant silicone sealant.
